More stoked about this signing with every single interview and breakdown. It's incredible what an absolutely perfect fit this seems to be. Has to show it on the court in the fall, of course, but everything points to him just continuing the offense rolling and adding some really consistent shooting threat on top of it.

The number of different national pundits I've now heard say " it could be that both Nembhard and Creighton end up coming out of this better off . . ." is astounding to me. And honestly, on paper at least, I don't think it's homerism to say that it really looks more possible that the ays come out better than Nembhard does.

Ryan Hawkins the 2nd, from an inside source. Let's decide post season, but similar vibes.

Apparently, he was not their starting PG at beginning of season.

He does sound exactly like a Ryan Hawkins type of leader. His maturity, experience, talent, and drive all look like this may be the missing piece if we can keep the big 3/4 together.

Let’s all slow down a bit. I know it’s fun to get a shiny new toy and that may feel like an improvement over what is now gone, but he needs to step on the court in Omaha first.

(Forgets what I typed…)

His game reminds me a bit of Steve Nash, two-time MVP and one of the greatest point guards of all time.

He reminds me of a little better shooing Ryan Sears. That is definitely a good thing.

If he can defend like the Ankeny Bulldog, we will be better.

Not many can, LOL. There’s a reason Sears holds season and career steals records. I guess the coaches know what he needs to work on.

He's not going to be Sears. We just need him to be better than Nembhard - and I think that's a great possibility.

Matt DeMarinis dives in deep with the stats and video review to show the dynamic range Ashworth brings to Creighton.

Enjoy!

This is a great statistical and video breakdown of his game. What excites me the most his ability to hit from distance off the dribble, especially out of the ball screen. On games where R2 could do that, we were unstoppable. Steven has done it much more consistently. Also encouraged by the clips where he refuses the screen, steps the other way and drills a three.
