I thought we would see Lawson and Baylor out there together at times this year but it just never happened and Baylor is way too good to take off the floor.

Recruiting is really a hit and miss game. Whoever scouted Lawson and thought he could play at the Big East level was dead wrong. Just the few minutes that he got in mop-up time showed that he had poor lateral movement and no explosion off the floor. We really could have used a Damien Jefferson type player off the bench this year, so signing Lawson ended up hurting the team. Our Big East colleagues at Xavier, Seton Hall, Providence and St. John's seemed to reload their entire rosters with athletic players, but we couldn't find one guy in the portal??? We had an incredible core with Trey, Baylor and Kalk, but unfortunately the loss to a team like Tennessee was pre-ordained by the inability to fill in a couple of more good pieces around them. Still a great year, great team, great coaching, but coulda, woulda, shoulda!!

Better comp would be Antwann Jones. Both started their careers at Memphis but couldn't crack the lineup here.

Cashews are right up there with pistachios in my book. Pretty sure we've never had a player at Creighton named either, though!
