Maybe I missed it, but he never said grad transferring. He just said sitting out the rest of the year is a possibility since he’s still a ways out. Jon said probably at least 2 weeks at minimum. Obviously that rumor could still be true, but Matt never confirmed that Davion is considering leaving.

You’re correct my mistake. He just mentioned sitting out a year and using the redshirt.

that would make minutes tight across the team, but wow, that would be a stacked team next year

I am guessing Mac has figured out at this point in his career that the hoops landscape has changed in terms of players staying at one school for 4 years. For example, thomas, patton, martin, harrell etc all left earlier then anticipated. Hence, any of our players on this team could leave early, transfer go to Europe and not be on the roster next year. Therefore, if Jones can play this year, by all means let him play, the time is now to win not next year as anybody could leave and change the roster entirely.

Is there any information out there about a timetable for the NCAA’s decision? I can’t find anything.

If Antwann is as advertised, I’d prefer he make his debut next season. Kalkbrenner and Antwann (and Windham) stepping in to replace the minutes of K. Jones, Mintz and Jefferson sounds more beneficial than adding another wing to this season’s team (assuming Mintz becomes a key rotation player). I won’t protest if he’s granted eligibility, but that’s my take and I’m sticking to it.

Why would we need to replace Jefferson's minutes?

Because I had a brain fart and thought he was a senior. Scratch that part of it.

After watching the big 3 play essentially all possible minutes last night, has the door been closed on Antwann getting a waiver for this year?

Honestly, I just don't think it's worth it at this point. Save his eligibility for next year and work him into the rotation.

For this year, get Mitchell playing more, play Windham and roll the dice. Have to suffer with some of the learning pains that we are getting from Mahoney in the front half of the BE conference schedule because we need him to step up down the stretch.

Bluejayfan00 posted this in a separate thread, but Antwann has entered the transfer portal.
