Re: 2019 6’8 F Tristan Enaruna

[quote="blueblood"]There wasn't one person on this board that didn't predict he would not play. I remember him committing and then KU just kept recruiting and signing guys in his exact same position. Most of us were shocked he got some time early in the season. Come May they are going to recruit over him all over again. Not sure how you recruit kids like this. I'm sure you show them example after example but they just don't think it will happen to them.
You can't convince me guys like Self and Roy Williams are such awesome coaches. Able to recruit well yes, but coach? Williams loses his horse and now where's that great coaching?[/quote

Are they really recruiting well, or just funneling shoe money?

Guess we will find out how serious Tristan was about Creighton.

LOL, apparently he withdrew his name 10 minutes after he put it in the portal.

Self confirmed he is transferring. The withdrawn status is an era. Will be interesting if he considers us again

I'm sure we'll give him a call. Does it create a minutes problem with Miller and Modestas also in that 6-8 to 6-10 range? Enaruna played more of a guard/wing for Kansas and just didn't do well in their system. He's a serious athlete and he had shooting skills, so we should have interest. He also looked like he did some good S&C at Kansas.

He's a guy who could likely use a real transfer year though to rebuild

No, don't think it does at all. IMO, KU used him in a way that was counter intuitive to his skillset. Modestas is coming off an ACL, and is ultra thin. Never played at this level. Mason is also super thin, will probably need some time to adjust. Adding Enaruna to play that 4 spot would be big, IMO. Think he has the skillset to do it. Similar size to Cole Huff, but much more athletic and versatile. Would hope Huss is reaching out and going after this hard.

If we get him I'd hope we put him at the 3. I really want to go towards getting a longer team over all. Its always pretty frustrating to see other teams with 3 starters over 6'6 with they jays only having 1.

I don't disagree, but who are we putting at the 4 next year then?

When has Creighton really had anybody you could call a 4 recently?

It's wings a big guy. That's Creighton.
