Our top 3 targets for 2021 were Sallis, Hepburn, and Mors, right? 0/2 thus far.

And I have a bad feeling that Hoiberg is going to come in and snatch Sallis. Thank god for the Kalkbrenner commit, or this place would implode.

Disappointed - but thankful he isn’t going to Lincoln.

We have Z and Mitchell for the next 3-4 years, better to happen now than later.

I have always wondered if our late offer to Chucky was due to our likely interest in Preston Murphy, Jr. It seems like our interest in Chucky increased after Preston Sr.'s suspension. It isn't likely we would have taken both of them. I hope that isn't the case. I think losing Chucky is a big loss. It is always good to lock down the good, local players. The last two under-recruited local kids sure turned out okay, and hopefully Mitcell will too.

A lot can happen between now and 2021, Junior commits are dicey.

Good point on Murphy Jr. I was wondering what our interest level was in him now as I haven't heard anything in a long while, and now that his father is still in the media guide, who knows? He's reclassified to 2022, IIRC

The talent level in Omaha is making it harder to lock down everyone. A few P5 level players are going to get away just from the numbers. Murrell was a bigger loss IMO and he went to Stanford for the academics (can't argue with that really).

We just didn't seem to treat Hepburn as a priority, and that's fine by me as we've evaluated the Omaha kids better than anyone else for the past decade. And given that the coaches seemed to really like Mitchell as a priority (and limited viewing in Australia games seems to back up their assessment), I'm OK with that.

I don't know, we were this kid's dream school for a long time and I get the feeling we really took him for granted. Now, it bites us in the ass.

He's a Top-150 prospect in our own backyard and we let him get away. That's not a good look and hopefully the staff won't sit on their hands when another one like him comes along.

Not sure how we didn’t treat him as a priority. He 100% was. Hilltop has been saying as much for months. Just because we didn’t land him doesn’t mean he wasn’t a priority, it’s ok to admit we lost this one.

With Patton we were the first major offer. We saw his development when he showed up to our camp, IIRC, and we offered immediately. We were Khyri Thomas' first major offer (only one?), and we were the first major offer for Mitchell also (after offers from teams like Drake and Loyola Chicago). If we made someone a priority and they are local, I'd expect us to offer before teams like Wisconsin and Minnesota
