We are in his top 5 including Kansas, Stanford, Arizona and Utah. Huge longshot but nice to make his list.

The kid grew up in Tucson. Everyone not named Arizona is a long shot. Moving on.

In general, yes, but they weren't there the first time around.. plus, there is always idea of catching them after they go to the name school and decide to transfer

The more times we can be on the final list with KU and Az the sooner we are a player with the top recruits. Go Jays!

I really agree with this. It's nice to be lumped with national teams on a top five list! We are the geographic outlier in this case, so maybe a change would interest him! You never know with recruits. We are really shooting for a higher level of recruit than ever before and we will miss on most of them, but we will also get some of them. We have too much to offer as a program and a University!

This message is for Mr. Lightfoot only. Please, nobody else read it. Thanks!

Mr. Lightfoot,

Thank you for including us in your Top 5 list along with such other prestigious schools. By considering Creighton, it appears you already recognize that we have a good thing going here, and want to be a part of it. If you choose Kansas or Arizona, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful career. But at the end of the day, you'll likely go down as just another player in a long line of high recruits who chose to be a Jayhawk or WIldcat. That's not a bad thing, or an insult, but they've had so many legends and high draft picks, you'll be one of many.

If you choose Creighton, you will immediately attain cult status. For us, as a fanbase, to see a high recruit choose the Jays over KU and AU...we'd go genuine bonkers. But that's just the beginning. As a program, we've had great success, but we are just now venturing into the world of the Big East and major conference basketball. Your signing with Creighton could be an institutional difference-maker. That's a question I hope you ask. Do you want to help build something? Turn something good into something exceptional? Or do you want to be another cog? You can have the greatest impact at Creighton University.

Ten years from now, Jayhawk fans might gather and say "Do you remember that Lightfoot kid?" It'd be a conversation at a sports bar, where others might say "Do you remember Wayne Selden?" Or "Do you remember Rex Walters?" Sure, it'll be great to be remembered, but if you come to Creighton, and have the career most think you will have, you will be a legend. Creighton fans will look at you as a TURNING POINT in Creighton basketball history. It's unlikely for you to have that type of impact at the other four schools listed.

Thanks again for considering Creighton. Whatever your decision, we wish you the best.

Sincerely,
Random guy on a message board who had a little too much time this morning so he wrote a stupid letter to a great recruit who will almost certainly never read it

Geographic outlier? Sorry to nitpick but I think we are in the same region as KU, or have they moved from Lawrence?
