I think with just the 2 top 100 guys we would be in the top 25 recruiting class, anything else is just a bonus and move up the rankings. This class isn't done yet though.....

Wyo fans' assessment of Omaha is funny.

I didn't think the Wyo board was that bad. A couple of guys were a bit testy, but the rest were gracious enough. If we hadn't sealed the deal on Patton we may have felt the same way during last year's class.

I really like Thompson. He plays for a small school in Wyoming and didn't get a ton of recognition and some other schools were waiting until his AAU this summer to get more involved.

He's 6-10, 220 already and has room to gain more weight, really moves well and can run the floor, has some post moves and can drive to the basket, and has range out to the 3 PT line. It's hard to find a high skill guy who has that kind of height and bulk. Bonus is that he can play with Patton at the 4 and can also play the 5.

He's another great piece to the puzzle going forward.

Don't tell Miles. A couple of pages in the Sunday OWH about the last 40 years of NU's bigs and their search for another big guy. Stats on how few there are and what approach to use.

Then they mention in 1 sentence about the " If there is a potential big man loss in Nebraska, it would be 6'11" Patton." It never gets old.

Patton is from Omaha, why do Big Red fans think they're entitled to him? Hometown basketball team in Douglas/Sarpy is Creighton.

Was UNL in on Thompson?

They are listed in the colleges recruiting Thompson on Rivals. It does not appear as though they offered him. Of course, sometimes the lack of an offer simply means that a kid does not have reciprocal interest in the school.

Got to love the OWH article talking about that other team's struggles to find a big man along with their fans assessment that they didn't pursue post-season so they could focus on recruiting. While we go ahead and sign another player 6'10"+ while riding along in the NIT. So sad for them.

Love the style that Hunter shows. Decent frame that will get bigger and nice athleticism with an outside shot and passing instincts. Get him in the system and teach him some post loves and rebounding and the Thompson/Patton combo will be a formidable one.

There goes another one of their arguments up in flames.

LOL to the Wyoming fans who think he needs to stay home and play there. Coach just resigned today.
