Have we ever had a player commit to us at a press conference?

Maybe that's what he is thinking. And chooses creighton. Just stuns everyone.

I want to believe he will surprise everyone and pick Creighton, but his "too many people are afraid to dream big" is a direct reference to a theme of Calipari's new book that is out now.

Hoops Hype Canada @HoopsHypeCA

Reliable sources tell HHC that Windsor, ON's 6'4" Mychal Mulder will formally announce his commitment to Kentucky Tuesday afternoon.

Unfortunately, "dreaming big" usually involves just that - a dream. He's going to have a heck of a time cracking the starting 5 this season. If they land Jaylen Brown, he has no chance. And forget starting, he likely sees limited time in 2016 given all the top prospects UK is after. He would have been a two year starter here at SG, and a focal point in our offense. But, in a way, I get it. It's Kentucky. That's a hard offer to pass up. I probably would have done the same thing at 20 yrs old.

I would have too. Oh well. Time to move on.
If there is a positive in this it's that it will give Khyri or Marlon a chance to see the floor this year (I still don't think both end up playing). If Mulder joined I think both would have been redshirted.

Good Luck to him! Hope it works out. It would have been something special to see him in our lineup the next 2 yrs.

Mulder commits to Kentucky, and four hours later they offer the #2 wing in the 2016 class. Yikes.
