Actually even worse, UK offered a wing in the 15' class this morning Shaun Kirk. Kirk committed to NC State last night. Since UK offered him, he has since put his NC St commitment on hold.

Such a shame. This kid had a chance to be a meaningful contributor, getting national exposure and lots of playing time, at a school that really wanted him badly and wanted to utilize his skills. Instead, the glamor of Coach Cal and the Kentucky machine lured him (and his advisors), and two years from now he'll likely be able to sit down and commiserate with all those other guys who had opportunities to shine at other places and ended up picking splinters out of their asses. I wish him well, but I strongly suspect he's going to end up being able to say he was on the Kentucky team and never really got to play much during his time there.

Question...when a kid gives his verbal commitment to a school, how soon after does he sign with no backing out?

Or maybe he just wanted to play past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

I'm sure he's going to be really bummed out when he only gets to play 10 minutes of the national championship game.

Seriously, every ripping on a kid for choosing to play at the University of Kentucky need to knock it off.

He signed during his press conference.

Obviously it is an honor for a kid to suit up for one of the Elite of the Elite schools (UK, UCLA, KU, Duke, and uh, uh, ?, oh yeah the nof' clickians-unc). Hard to say no to the elites.

However, this little vignette is not yet finished, as UK still has 2-3 billets/open scholies to potentially fill. If they recruit over Mychal, either he may have a change of heart OR UK may withdraw the offer.

Stay tuned.

This. It's the kid's decision. Creighton fans should probably try not to take it personally.
