ESPN article - post Fab 48 in Vegas...Joel Francisco and others.
Several blurbs on CU targets... http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecr ... b-48-recap

Mitchell, Roach, McDuffie, Marshawn Wilson, Stephen Thompson, Jarred Reuter.
Also a paragraph on Justin. Francisco's 1st look at Justin - very complimentary.

Rivals article on Donovan Mitchell. Has a paragraph on Justin as well.

I have no doubt he would have gotten offers this week in Vegas. Once again, have to hand it to our coaches here. They were probably right all along.

From Scout: LV Day 4 Performers...
Justin Patton, C, OSA Crusadors: Creighton got a flat out steal in Patton, whose size, length, athleticism and budding skill all scream upside. Patton is still pretty physically immature and isn’t capable of impacting the game today the way he will once he gets stronger, but with added muscle and skill development, the sky is the limit for this kid. He blocked shots, rebounded and finished above the rim. He should be a very good one for Creighton.

10 2015 kids highlighted in gtmo's article. Pretty heady stuff for Justin. Two others of interest there were Brevin Pritzl who we missed on as he is going to home state Wisky. The other is Donovan Mitchell who has blown up. We continue to get listed.

We'll know soon enough who will visit the Hilltop as this was the last AAU event and kids are going to be making their cuts and then visits over the next few weeks.

excerpt from Francisco's article:

Biggest Sleepers

Markis McDuffie (Jersey City, N.J./St. Anthony)
2015, SF/PF, 6-7, 200
We were on sleeper watch on Friday and there was plenty to see. This was my first look at McDuffie and he is a very nice talent. He has great size and solid skill. The combo forward is a streaky shooter with a smooth stroke and range to 20 feet. McDuffie is a big-time sleeper who should have heavy interest from East Coast high-major schools.

Justin Patton (Omaha, Neb./North)
2015, C, 6-11, 220
Committed to Creighton
Patton is a sleeper who could become an absolute steal for Creighton. He is tall, but needs to add strength, which should be an easy fix once he gets to college. He is an effective shot-blocker with solid hands and feet. Patton runs the floor well and showed the ability to be an effective face-up shooter. He needs to learn how to be consistently productive, but Patton has the tools to be an impact player down the road at the next level.

Marshawn Wilson (Maplewood, Minn./Murray Hill)
2015, PF/SG, 6-3, 200
Wilsen is a strong, power point guard. He can score and distribute. His big body is hard to stop from getting into the lane by high school guards. Once he gets into the lane, he is proficient at both scoring and finding open teammates. Wilson is a streaky shooter with range to 20 feet. In a class that is not loaded with point guards, Wilson should be a priority for many Midwest schools.

Bossi, on Patton (and Roach) 7/29/14: https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com ... ID=1663830

C Justin Patton (2015): Looking back at the month of July, there wasn't a more under utilized player than Patton. Teams have their system and his Omaha Crusaders team was very well coached and the weave they like to run is effective. However, the talented big man would have been a force if utilized more. Not saying that he will end up an NBA player, but there are a lot of guys making money the Association who looked like Patton as 16 and 17-year-olds. He can run, has tremendous size (with plenty of room to add weight) and looks to have good touch. Right now, Creighton is the clubhouse leader for biggest steal in 2015 recruiting by landing him before anybody else found out about him.

Those are some very kind words from a man who's evaluated a lot of talented players.

This coaching staff continues to impress on the recruiting front. Only breeds more optimism for the future :)

Well, the praise for Patton keeps coming. This from Evan Daniels of Scout.

CREIGHTON WITH THE STEAL
Creighton deserves some serious credit for getting Justin Patton, a 6-foot-11 big man, committed before he got out on the July circuit. I’m not quite sure how he managed to fly under the radar this long, but I evaluated him twice in Las Vegas and Josh Gershon saw him once and the resounding thought was this guy is loaded with upside and potential. A legitimate high major player and future top 100 prospect, Patton is clearly blessed with good height, but also has an extremely long set of arms. He’s mobile and able to get end-to-end quickly. Patton has a nice set of hands that caught virtually everything thrown his way. Plus he has impressive touch in the paint. He also showed tremendous confidence in his mid-range jumper, as he buried multiple shots from that area in my viewings. Defensively, he’s able to impact the game with his shot blocking.

So when the recruiting rankings are updated, looks like Patton will be a top 100 scout player and top 150 rivals.......
