2014 PG Maurice 'Mo' Watson (Transfer Commit)

5'9'' point guard from Philly transferring from Boston U. Watson was an elite scorer in HS and averaged 13 ppg, 7apg last year for Terriers. One of best PG in nation to be honest. Look for Jays to be involved.

Great to hear that we will get him on campus. Maybe Doug can show him the hardware he received last week. You'd think the opportunity in '15 would be appealing with no other PGs on the roster.

Whoa. Not sure I expected us to get a visit. This is huge. As someone above noted, he is truly one of the better point guards in America.

Is he required to sit out a year?

He'll sit next season when Austin and Devin are seniors. Prefect for us and him.

This is a perfect situation, learn from Austin this year and take over the following year along with a freshmen PG stud to back him up.

Maurice Watson, Jr.: Creighton, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Temple, Purdue, Penn State, Xavier, Kansas, Drexel. Wants to make decision "soon."

Maurice Watson Jr. ‏@ReeceWatson10 ·30m
Omaha, Nebraska this weekend what an experience this should be for me!

Kansas? I know they haven't had a high-level PG in a while, but how telling is it they are going to try to find a transfer PG? Not a lot of investment in Tharpe it seems.

One of the media talking heads (goodman, rothstein,??) insinuating comments regarding an "incident" involving Tharpe. Self to Brewster this week.

Where's Watson's bio? 5-9 ???
That means...there's a chance.... :o That a 62 y/o fart, with walker, could possibly suit up? I'm gettin' on the plane NOW!

His 2013-2014 assist rate was something like the 5th best of any D-1 player in the LAST TWELVE YEARS.

And he's one of 2-3 dozen best thefts of the ball in the game.

And he'd have a year to learn what the staff wants and play with some of the guys who would be here for 2015-2016, before completing his final 2 years of eligibility.

And Chatman and Brooks graduate this year.

And we have no 2014 PG commits.

Wow! In Kansas no less... Tharpe is every HS boy's hero now.

PS: I keep forgetting the Jays are Big East now, as well as a top academic univ...so no real surprise with a Philly kid having interest in CU. Mo will be pleasantly surprised with the city - and the lack of cornfields. ;)
