2014 F Cole Huff (Transfer Commit)

Dayton just got a verbal from Detwon Rogers, a player very similar to Cole Huff.

Huff in recent article:

He's leaving Nevada cause he wants to challenge himself at a bigger school and put himself in a position to make basketball a career. As mentioned elsewhere, he prefers to play wing as opposed to PF and C that he was forced to do at Nevada due to injuries there. His decision will be based on basketball, a place where he is "part of a great team with great fans and a great coach."

Specifically about Creighton:

He likes that Creighton shoots alot of 3's, he could "get use to that." He's watched our offense and it looks "like it's fun to play in." Talks about how there is alot of movement in the offense with alot of screens and double screens. Called the Big East a "great conference" and they get to play on Fox Sports with Gus Johnson calling the games which appeals to him.

Creighton, Iowa and Dayton are the main schools. USC is trying to get him to visit, Michigan is waiting to see if another player is going to commit or if McGary is leaving for the NBA and he hasn't heard from UCLA lately.

Since we are up against Iowa in this case, does anyone have any thoughts on the utter and complete meltdown that was Iowa Basketball down the stretch? They looked good when I saw them early in the year, but down the stretch were simply awful -- 5-10 in their last 15 and 1-7 in their last 8. What happened that caused the wheels to fall off?

Hope he has a great trip to Omaha this weekend. Agree with OldFan that Mac going to Reno while Fran sent an assistant might count for something in the Iowa vs. CU battle. I sense that the Michigan name and idea trumps CU and Iowa, but UM still has not offered.
