My favorite part of the OWH article: Mr Huff told Michigan - you know, the Final Four team from the utopian Big 10 - that he "wasn't interested," because he's going to be a Jay. AWESOME!!!

Would this have ever happened if we weren't in the Big East? Hell no. I still approve of our switch of conferences.

It's funny - all the talk about the Big East nosediving and being a "low major" etc. are completely contrary to most FACTUAL analysis out there. The Big East, despite having a down year from some teams that will almost certainly rebound, was still ranked as one of the top conference in the country. In addition, the recruiting classes are solid across the board. I believe someone pointed out that the BE had more Top 150 recruits than the Big 10. Any talk of that conference's demise? Nope.

Good things could become even better very soon. Very exciting addition. I love how the roster is shaping up.

The last two months has really illustrated what the move to the Big East has done for our program.

In that time, Doug swept the national player of the year awards. We signed two consensus top-150 high school players. Two proven division one players transferred to Creighton and both of them indicated it was because they wanted to compete against the highest level of talent; with both indicating the NBA is their goal (sorry, Dirk). Oh, and the Big East, you know, that floundering conference on it's way to mid-major obscurity, just inked an 8-year scheduling alliance with the Big Ten (sorry, Dirk). The Big East also signed 20 of the top 150 HS players in the country (3rd best of any conference) and 14 of the top 100 (2nd best); this, a conference with only 10 teams as opposed to the ACC which now has 39 teams and the Big Ten which has, like 14.5 or something.

Our profile as a basketball program, and a university as a whole has risen dramatically in a short period of time, and the results are already showing. This is a phenomenal time to be a Bluejay, and the addition of Cole to the roster is icing on the cake.
