This guy has major conference talent. He is super athletic and a legit 6"3" slashing guard who gives max effort on both ends. He is a bitch of a defender and can guard 1-3. He can most definitely help the Jays on the defensive end right away.

Even though he wasn't Benson's PG, he was their primary ball handler a lot of the time. He is great in transition and slashing to the hoop and his jumpshot has steadily progressed over the last few years. After 1 year of Prep school I think he will definitely be able to step in to Creighton and contribute.

He reminds me a bit of the kind of kids Wichita often brought in. Quality athletes and tough as nails defensively with the ability to guard a lot of different types of players. I think Thomas also has the ability to add a lot to his offensive game. As you say, the year in Prep school will help get him ready for D1 action.

What are those in the know's opinion on the likelihood we land this kid?

I'd say Creighton has a pretty good shot. It will be interesting to see how much more attention he will garner down there than he did playing here in Nebraska.

From OWH, not a lot new:
All-Nebraska boys basketball honorary captain Khyri Thomas, a senior last season at Omaha Benson, enrolled at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia and has an offer for the 2015-16 season from Creighton.
Thomas posted photos of Creighton shirts on his Twitter account since retweeting several posts about his offer from the Bluejays that came last month.
Fork Union, which includes Vinny Testaverde among its alums, has high school graduate-level teams in football and basketball.

Khyri is apparently dominating at the National Prep Showcase event. Multiple national recruiting guys have tweeted that he has easily been the most impressive player at the event, and that he is primed to blow up on the recruiting trail.

Are we still involved?

More pro creighton tweets. If he gets eligible. I feel staff will take him over frankamp. No info or inside info.

He definitely fills a need on our roster much more than Connor. When would we know if he qualifies academically?
