2015 G Jarvis Johnson (Offered)

Postby hilltopalum » Tue Jul 31, 2012 9:57 pm

Creighton has also offered Minnesota Pump'n'Run 6'1'' PG Jarvis Johnson. Johnson is considered a top 2 talent in the Minnesota for 2015. Johnson only behind fellow Creighton target Alex IIIikainen in Minnesota Youth Basketball Top 10 in 2015.

High caliber point guard skills. Crafty point, playmaker, plays under control, has elite use change of speed and direction to set up his defender up.. Has the ability to collapse the defense off the dribble and can make plays for others around the rim and on the perimeter. Plays with in the offense, can create off the dribble to penetrate and has explosiveness around the rim. Championship point guard as a freshman, Only the 3rd freshmen to start varsity for De La Salle. All-State-Tournament team and the only freshman in the state rank in ESPN’s Top 100 in the class of 2015.

Johnson has the speed, quickness, athleticism, motor and ability to change gears to be a special lead guard. Johnson also has excellent court vision and does a good job with the advance pass on the break and finding the open man. He excels on the break, but can run the half-court offense as well. Johnson has a nice midrange pull-up jumper that he can get off at any time with his ability to beat his man off the dribble. He can hit the open 3 but must work to make it a consistent weapon. Johnson must learn not to take chances with the ball at times and pay attention to his shot selection, but this can be expected from such a young guard. Johnson can make a play with the clock winding down and overall has great upside.

Um yes please!?

Kid can really create his own offense off the dribble, and had some nifty passes in there as well.

That update doesn't sound promising at all. He mentions improving so he can get more high D1 offers? And he's hoping Tubby will come through?

I don't think we should be getting our hopes up.

Read somewhere that Tyseanna (Jarvis' sister) trimmed her list to Iowa State, Denver, Auburn, NC State and Memphis. Not good if true for either prospect.

Tyseanna picks Iowa State, they likely lead for Jarvis.
