All over twitter tonight.

He has been leaning Gtown the whole time, so not much of a surprise here. Still a letdown.

Wow! this one really hurts.... The coaching staff really needs to start stepping it up in terms of recruiting and not just international players.

hard to fault a kid for picking georgetown and DC.

good luck to him (except against the jays).

Agreed, especially when his father has something like 3 Georgetown degrees (undergrad, where I believe he played soccer, as did one of P. Schropp's uncles, per a 2012 OWH article, JD and LLM, I believe). No idea if his mother also went there, but that has been said on here and elsewhere. Don't know about the other dads on here, but I think my own feelings about Creighton sports (and I only did undergrad at CU as a non-athlete) are a strong enough presence in my household that my child would probably choose Creighton over a local school (I live nowhere near Omaha), if playing a team sport at CU was miraculously an option years from now.

I never sensed that Creighton had any chance with him when we were in the MVC, and still didn't think the conference change would be enough to trump the family connections/dream school/Georgetown academics. I'd be really upset if he chose a school like Maryland or Marquette over Creighton, assuming no personal ties, but this doesn't remotely bother me.

Of course, if he's really serious about his soccer career (and he was serious enough to spend part of his high school career in Florida) he might ultimately start playing professionally in MLS or overseas after high school.

Didn't his dad play at Georgetown, too?
