Depending on which narrative in this thread you favor, you could also say we offered and lost kids that weren't priorities. Not commentary just observation...

We always offer more people than we have scholarships. Does that mean we like them all equally or does it mean we just want the kids from Omaha cuz they are the best?

Unfortunately Sallis and Primo are pretty likely to receive high major offers from the type of schools it has been mentioned on here that we cannot compete with. Miller is going to be incredibly hard to lure away from Memphis. Bates is a priority and hopefully we can snag him, but after that the only names I have seen thrown around are Jaylon Moses and Chase Courbat. Moses has a lot of programs waiting and seeing how he responds coming off injury though. That is currently 6 targets, 4 spots. Three of those would be the highest ranked recruit in program history if any one of them signed. More than likely we are going to need the transfer market to fill a couple spots.

I haven't seen Creighton's board, but I'd be willing to bet there are more than six names on there regardless of how many guys we know about right now.

This is so true. Jays typically offer 20 to 30 recruits per year. We generally have 2-4 open scholies. No need getting butt hurt over missing 2 or 3 local/regional guys.

To be fair, they were 2 or 3 region Top 150 guys. I can understand the disappointment a lot of folks feel about missing out on these kids. However, there are surely a lot of other kids high up on the Jay's board that are going after.

Let's see who else pops up!

Just according to the Scholie Matrix on this board, We have 25 offers out for 2021.
Eighteen of those offers are still in play. Now is not the time to get pissed, nor panic.

The 3 2021 local/regional guys are/were priority recruits. Everything the staff has done to date shows they are priority recruits. Mors and Hepburn are friends and it was inferred by posts and texts that Chucky wanted to play on the same team with Mors. Wisconsin was Mors' "dream school", the 2 guys visited Wisconsin together, then commited to the Badgers. Sallis still is a priority recruit. You win some, lose more in recruiting.

The only time where it seemed that we slow rolled was in the case of Matt Nicholson/Kiyron Powell - both 2020 F/C. We never rescheduled Powell's missed visit (weather) and there was no further mention of Nicholson after his official visit. I and others guessed that the staff was going "all-in" on Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Recruiting is more misses than hits...This staff does a good job in evaluating and offers and prays for commits just like we do.

If this was mentioned elsewhere, apologies.

But I saw that Creighton was in to see 2021 PG Tyrese Hunter (Wisconsin) in the Fall. He's been offered from Texas A&M, Miami (Ohio), Loyola Chicago, Bradley. Also being looked at by Marquette, Butler, Iowa State, Illinois, Wake Forest and others.

Article here where Creighton is mentioned by Tyrese. https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Tyrese-Hunter-top-100-Elite-100-Marquette-Wake-Forest-recruiting-135539598/
