With Jaiden Coon committed- 1 down, Arafan Diane to get. Diane has jumped to #22 on 247’s rankings, still low @#70 on their composite list. Might as well get both top recruits from Iowa.

When you’re getting an official visit you take a bit more notice.

Another 7 footer being targeted. Seems like coaches are focusing on point guards and centers although not exclusively.

I don’t have a membership so not able to see the article but it seems that CU and a couple evil competitors are high on the list for this Top 50 kid.

Here is the body of the story:

Lucas Morillo, a four-star point guard in the 2026 class, is taking an official visit to Marquette this week. The 6-foot-6 rising senior out of The Newman School (MA) will be visiting the Golden Eagles from June 3-5.

Morillo, originally from the Dominican Republic, has been a major stockriser in the ’26 class. He is currently averaging 15.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game for City Rocks on the EYBL Circuit. His impressive play led to a jump in On3’s rankings, rising from 87th nationally all the way to 41st nationally.

Morillo’s trip to Marquette marks his first official visit. He also holds offers from schools like Georgetown, Creighton, Stanford, Illinois, UCLA, and others.

Morillo a standout at EYBL Memphis
Lucas Morillo was one of the top performers last month at EYBL Memphis, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw:

For me, the impressive piece of Lucas Morillo’s game is his consistent ability to produce stats across the board. Listed in the 6-foot-7 range, Morillo is leading his City Rocks team in points, rebounds, and assists this summer. The team also finished 3-1 this weekend behind Morillo’s outputs.

His feel for the game is very intriguing. He plays at a pace where he is never rushed. He is confident on the ball, and he is able to get to his spots, getting his defender off balance, and putting them on his hip to create an advantage. He does not have a lot of explosive pop in his game, and that did get him in trouble around the basket at times, but he decelerates well and has a nose for the ball.

Morillo had two double doubles on the weekend, finishing Friday’s game with 19, 10, and five assists and then on Sunday with 16, 11, and five assists. On the weekend, he averaged 16.0 assists, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals.
