Re: 2014 SG Riley LaChance

New Indiana article came out on LaChance. Synopsis is pretty much that Creighton has been on LaChance for awhile (he apparently visited as a sophomore), only has a trip to Creighton and Davidson set although others have been discussed and he wants to make a decision before his senior year.

New 247sports top 247 came out today.

Riley jumped 26 spots up to #116.

Other players of note:
Joe Burton: #87
Leon Gilmore: #90
James Demery: #94
J.P. Macura: #118
Bryant McIntosh: #130
Josh Cunningham: #212

For everyone upset about missing out on Casey Benson, he dropped 17 spots to #151. As you can see, nearly every one of our targets is regarded more highly, at least by this recruiting site.

Coming up pretty quickly then, no? If that's the case I like our chances. He's visiting us in the next couple days so we have a chance to wow him right before making his decision

LaChance's dad played at Marquette, used to visit often as an alum. Crean now at Indiana.
Indiana showing interest in the wake of the Blackmon de-commit. The LaChances' have reciprocal interest.

This could get interesting.

LE, Correction per article: Tom LaChance knows Tom Crean and assistant Tim Buckley as he was a walk-on player at Marquette in the early 90's and often made it over to his alma mater for practices, camps and other events in the years following.

No. Tom Crean arrived at Marquette in 1999. Riley LaChance's father, per the internet, played at Marquette during/near the Marquette/Hoops Dreams (William Gates) era, well before Crean was in Milwaukee.

Not refuting the possible mutual interest, just noting that the connection is not as suggested.

What I do know is that (a) our staff is very interested in LaChance, (b) LaChance is visiting Creighton this weekend, and (c) LaChance would be a fantastic addition for Creighton.

For those keeping track at home, if Riley dad's played for Tom Crean at Marquette the oldest he would be when he had Riley would be 18 if he played only the tail end of his senior year for Crean during Crean's very first 1999 year at Marquette.

Tweets tonight say Josh Perkins likely verbal to Gonzaga tomorrow so that would take them out of the Riley race.

Riley LaChance, who has already visited Creighton, plans to visit Vanderbilt (Sept. 6), Xavier (Sept. 13) and Gonzaga (Sept. 20).

Like Ljay said, doubt Gonzaga visit is going to happen now....
