went well. Gibbs was impressed with CU, reports he has a list of around 5 schools

Committed to Davidson, per Evan Daniels.

And no offense to Davidson, cause it's a very good school with a great small conference basketball program, but surely we're not losing a recruiting battle with Davidson right now. Did he not have a firm offer from CU?

yeah - that's kind of crazy.

and i guess i'm sort of OK with it - with AC - and it's looking like both Yates and IZ can play point by what we've been hearing - maybe Gibbs became expendable.

do not think the staff will lose too much sleep over this.

Very weird things going on with this last scholarship but luckily it's basically a freebie though and we've already got a very good class. I can kind of see how we're having some trouble filling it too. I'm personally wondering why we're looking at another PG in this class with what we've got on the roster and what we've got committed. You've got Chatman as a soph, Yates as a freshman, IZ is apparently working as a point, and then Norton committed for two years down the road. We've all been talking about how hard it already will be to find some PT for a lot of quality guys. Look at the logjam at the point in a couple of years and a point guard recruit has to be asking himself where he fits in and where his minutes will be coming from. We can sell a recruit on a lot of things but easy playing time because we've got a hole to fill at the point certainly isn't one of them.

Now an athletic, lock-down, wing-defender is a different story but apparently we aren't interested in that at this time (i.e. Shirmane Thomas, and yes I will keep harping on that). Although I will say that maybe that's not as huge of a hole anymore with what we're reading from Dingman.

Can't say I'm unhappy about this. A 5'10 kid who is self-proclaimed to be 85% after a full year of rehab is a big stretch IMO.
