I am a little surprised we don't have more interest in Thomas. He leads Class A in 3-point shooting (55%) and is shooting 64% overall. He is also averaging over 24 ppg and 8+ rpg, and he has decent size at 6'7". I watched him play in the State tournament last year, and he looked really good. He looked better than Max Murrell although he obviously isn't as tall. But, for whatever reason, he doesn't have a lot of high major offers other than TCU. That could change though given the season he is having.

Do we have room at this point? I haven't seen him other than a bit of film -- He's pretty intriguing and has some good skills - good height, and really nice shooting touch. He's not super athletic and won't finish above the rim, but is crafty in finishing shots in the paint to go with his outside shooting, and he moves his feet well on D despite not looking like a super athlete.

Concern I would have is that his defense translate to a P5 conference and would he be able to finish reasonably well off of the drives he does now? Maybe that's what has held people back, but he's showing that he's an exceptional shooter, so you have to think that will start to get people to pay attention.

I trust the coaches here and am sure they're watching his play closely

I think we have room but are likely holding the last option for Hunter Sallis in case he chooses CU. I think the assumption has always been that this will be Marcus' last year. But, you never know with the injuries. I also wonder if Jacob will hang it up after this year.
I don't think he was activated for today's game. Maybe we would offer Saint if he continues to play well and Hunter (and others) go elsewhere. As far as playing below the rim, Mahoney and Jones also play below the rim. Sometimes those Omaha kids that fly under the radar turn out pretty good--especially when they really want to go to CU.

The new posts by LJay and others show that this 2021 Class is possibly underrated - and getting better (than Top 10) by the month.

These 4 guys are hoops monsters...and when added to Kalk, Rati, Kancleris, Bishop and the rest are going to be top 10 formidable, for years. We are fortunate to have landed such a class. Way to work Mac, Huss, and company! ;)

Landing Sallis will be icing on the cake. :o

This class continues to get great reviews by the high school scouts. Ryan James just had very nice things to say about John. Would love to see a three point contest with John, Ty ty, and Mason. Go Jays!

TyTy has been ranked too low, but is at least moving up lately. Nembhard not being easily in the Top 100 is baffling to me. He is very undervalued. And, I think Christofilis is going to be a perfect player in our system.

Agree with all of this. Would also add that I still think Mason Miller is a stud and great fit. He’s getting less press as the other 3 because he’s not playing in as many high profile games but he should be the perfect 4 in McDermott’s system.
