My understanding is that there are new rules this year regarding twitter and recruits. Coaches could not retweet or tweet players before this year. So I don't think it is a violation. The should is a different argument. But I have been told tweeting recruits, especially while on visits, is not frowned upon.

"Boosters" tweeting at recruits MAY be a small violation by the strict letter of the rules but it will never be an issue. Completely impossible to police if you're talking about a fan tweeting "be a jay" or "dude...you'll love Omaha" or whatever. It will never be an NCAA problem.

That said..tweeting at High School kids is creepy.

from our compliance department:
Social Networking Specific Regulations – Prospective Student Athletes
You MAY NOT engage in recruiting conversation with PSAs, relatives, legal
guardians or “mentors,” whether on or off-campus. This prohibition includes
using social media networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook to connect
with PSAs.
You MAY “friend” a PSA on Facebook or follow him or her on Twitter. But, you
MAY NOT encourage them to enroll at CU
, even if you don’t think you qualify
under the definition of the term “booster.” Assume that you meet that definition
and avoid contacting PSAs.
You MAY NOT create a recruiting or fan page for PSAs.
You MAY NOT become involved in arranging for a PSA, a

If you are too dumb to figure out how not to "engage in a recruiting conversation" with a potential recruit yet still throw mentions and whatnot his way then I feel for you.

The Tugs saga continues. I guess it's good news that MSU didn't blow him away enough on his visit to want to commit immediately, but he's gotta make a decision pretty soon...

Adam Zagoria wrote:"I’m not sure when I want to announce yet,” Bowen said Wednesday. “Whenever I get that gut feeling on exactly where I want to go to school."

or he could wait until Tyger Campbell makes his decision as well. Or Epperson. The signing period for basketball is after the CBB season. I believe April - May. He could easily stretch this out and see what happens with U of A players, Patton and Izzo's class.

Perhaps he is seeing how bad MSU is, and not sure if he thinks they will get players to turn it around soon. Skers could do us a favor by beating them Thursday.

I'm not going to be popular with this opinion but I feel like he's not happy with any of his choices. I realize he made his own list but the longer he takes it feels like he's waiting for that Duke/Kentucky/Uber Blue Blood type to come calling. I have no idea of anyone else's scholarship availabilities (I don't follow recruiting that close) but there's got to be a point of "shit or get off the pot". Signing day was a while ago and if he still can't make up his mind will he ever be happy? Or will we always feel like he's about to transfer?

Also wouldn't be surprised to see him re-classify to 2018. Possibly make a package deal with Tyger.
Please don't hate, just spouting an opinion....

For perspective only. According to Rivals top 150 right now, 7 of the top 20 are uncommitted. While frustrating it's not as though Tugs is some outlier hold out.
