247 shows his Stanford official visit three weeks ago, a TCU official visit this weekend and Iowa next weekend. No visit for CU but the Jays listed as warm interest. Probably not going to use a precious official on the local program who he can and has visited whenever.
I don’t do the fish wrap so don’t know what this particular story says.

He was on campus just yesterday.

Couple of unofficials to Minnesota and OV to William & Mary last spring. 31 ACT score. Wants to be challenged academically also. Still considering all, even schools not on his official visit list, like K. State. Wants a meaningful degree. Twin sister graduated HS in 3 years and is taking a gap year this year. They may want to go to the same school. Hasn't ruled out any school that has offered a scholarship. No hurry. Could sign in November or wait for spring. My guess is that depends on whether any blue bloods show interest and ask him to wait.

If we lose Murrell to another school, it will not be to a blue blood, this is they type of kid we could lose to Stanford if he wants an Academic powerhouse.

oh, I don't know. Not too worried, because there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in him at that level, right now anyway. But, there are a few blue bloods with pretty good academic credentials (Duke). I think anyone can find enough academic challenge at just about any school. Kansas has plenty of opportunity for academic challenge, should they come calling, for example. I don't know if any will pursue him, but I could see one of those try to dangle something to keep him from singing in November to have a back-up option if one of their top 25 targets ultimately goes elsewhere. Mere pre-season conjecture, of course.

CU visiting Murrell and Sallis today. Iowa State also in to see Sallis, and Stanford has a home visit with Murrell tonight. Per OWH.

Committed to Stanford. The recruiting right now is comical
We need some positive news, ANYTHING. Hopefully we can land Kalkbrenner.

Not surprising, almost a given. If the kid is a great student, nobody can compete against Stanford except the ivy leagues.

Perhaps he didn't want to be turned into another 6'9" 5.

Until Mac shows he will put more than one guy bigger than 6'5" on the floor at a time (and that guy has to play and guard the post), it is going to be difficult to get anyone of size who isn't looking to be a post to come here. It wouldn't completely shock me to see Bishop leave after this year if he doesn't see the floor outside of sharing time in the post. But, keep the lines of communication open. Stanford has not been good basketball wise since their NIT championship 5 years ago. 63-64 over that time, and Haase is 48-49 in his three seasons. Another season like his first three and Haase may be out. Of course, Murrell may not care so much about that. But in a couple of years and little maturing, he may realize Stanford isn't the end all be all, and he may rather come home to play in front of his parents and friends. If Mac starts playing with a true 4 again, perhaps he'd be more interested.
