Sit one, play three. Obviously doesn't help next season and we should be focusing on filling that 4 spot gap for next year before thinking about things down the road. Plus, unless Banton's going to play the 5 for us, taking him probably hurts our chances with Tristan if he were to commit first.

Banton would be a great pick up for us. With him and Tristan we could potentially play three 6’8 guys on the court at the same time.

Potentially. I'd love to have NBA length at the 3 and 4 spots, but unless Mac changes his general strategy or one of Banton, Tristan, and whoever else would be in the front court can legitimately play as a wing in Mac's offense and defend other, smaller wings really well, we wouldn't see that. I think it could work - Marquette played both Hausers and John or Morrow together fairly easily and I feel that Tristan could be more athletic than Sam Hauser and has more perimeter skills than Joey Hauser, but I don't know for sure. But I haven't seen enough of Banton to understand how well his perimeter game is developed and how well he defends. So I'm a bit skeptical.

Banton is listed as a guard.

He's 6'7 or 6'8 depending upon your source.
Ronnie was listed as a guard, too, for part of his time here. Never actually played one of the wing spots, only the 4.
It's hard to judge, but he looks to be more athletic than Ronnie per the highlights.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLTbKSFA_Yw He's #20. He had 8 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists vs. the Badgers.

It seems like WKU played him at the point last season for a while. Finished third on the team in assists. In the highlight he has some nice passes. The Hilltoppers had a player return from injury/suspension/whatever midway thru the season and Banton's minutes shrunk from there, though.

I don't think that we'd play him at the point here, not with Marcus.

Here's his line from last year: 15 MPG, 3.4 PPG on 51.7% from 2 (on 2 shots/game) and 21.6% (!!!) from 3 (on 1.2 shots/game). It's a small sample, but his 3P% is really rough. His shot mechanics probably need to be reworked.
He also put up 3 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.7 TO PG. Translates to 7.8 Rebounds/40, 5.5 assists/40, and 4.4 turnovers/40.

He’s listed as a guard but he’s a 3/4.

Very lazy defender. Offensive game looks a lot like Ronnie’s.
