Sounds like he has talent when not injured but how does he fit on this roster?

I hope we did not spend much NIL money on this kid. Seems like a practice player to me.

Is he a 7th year senior? I also wonder where he'll fit on this team? We are loaded with power forwards. We need guards, especially if Fedor isn't eligible.

He is. Redshirted his first year, then played three games before suffering a season-ending injury at Utah State. Spent two years at Illinois State and played in 60 games. Spent the last two years at High Point but did not play in a game because of medical issues.

They don't NEED guards (multiple). Graves, Dix and potentially Harper are your main ball-handlers with Davis, Swartz and Thomas options off the bench depending on the situation. If Fedor can't play, then they'll have his roster spot to use for his replacement.

They had a roster spot they could fill independent of Fedor's situation. McChesney is a guy Huss knows who's been through a lot. He'll be a practice squad player and anything beyond that he'll have to earn. Good situation for him to be part of a winning program with a coach he's comfortable with and potentially ease himself back into playing after two years off the court.

Jacob, if you’re the coach and Graves turns an ankle and is out for 3 weeks, who is your starting PG? I am assuming it’s Davis. Agree? This makes me a little nervous - mostly because he is still quite inexperienced at this level. Or is Swartz going to go from being a combo guard to becoming a PG?
(And, it’s a bit of an unfair question since we haven’t seen several of these guys in a CU uniform.)

Bonus question, could Liam play the back up 5 if the European freshman isn’t ready?

I ask these questions of you because I like your basketball IQ and insider insights.

To answer the last question first, I would not have any expectations at all for someone who hasn't played in nearly three years who was a role player on a mid-major team the last time he did play. Would imagine it'll be some combination of Dimitrijevic, Traudt, Green and potentially McChesney to fill those back-up 5 minutes.

Likewise, would imagine Graves being hurt or sitting on the bench would result in more playmaking responsibility for Dix and Harper with Davis and/or Swartz filling minutes in the backcourt. We'll also see how the Fedor situation resolves itself: do they get him back, do they find a replacement this late in the process if they don't, or is the roster set?

It would be great to have starters and experienced, proven backups at all five positions, but that's really hard to pull off. The guys on the roster now are the ones they've chosen and invested in. They seemingly like Ty enough (and/or their other options) that they didn't make it a priority to add another true point guard this cycle.
