That’s too bad. We had a great team this year. Hopefully our new coach can build on this season.

They'll have well-earned memories for a lifetime. Lots of key losses from last season's underachieving team, picked 4th pre-season this year, the possibility of turmoil in their own locker room from rival head coaches, but they overcame everything in their way and had an amazing season.

Brian O'Connor is leaving Virginia. He's the new head coach at Mississippi State.

Heck of a season. Definitely need to build on it. Need more power arms and power bats. And wow on Brian O’Connor.

So where does this leave us gong forward? With the new "salary cap" on NILs starting in July does CU minus facilities, weather and coverage become on a somewhat equal footing with the big boys?

IMO, not unless the administration commits to spending money on baseball, including recruiting money (and not talking about NIL), assistance coaches' salaries, and facilities, but mostly NIL and marketing for NIL opportunities for the baseball players. If not, notwithstanding changes coming in NIL, I am afraid a regional final is likely the high-water mark -- which of course makes this season all the more phenomenal.

I'm not sure I agree with that.

we have a new regime - and i think coming from the SEC - these guys know what it takes to compete and i would think got some commitments on what they would have access to going forward.

Arkansas is at the top of the heap and so perhaps it was a bad draw this year - but i think this team could have gotten into a super regional this year if the draw had been different. I don't think anyone right now would count out the Hawgs from winning it all.

new stadium on campus - i mean that's not a small undertaking - and it certainly shows commitment

i know some players parents and there has been some decent NIL improvements. the marketing for additional NIL is something that could probably be improved on - particularly within omaha and with omaha/NE kids.

1. My understanding was CU gave no NIL money to baseball players. Heard that multiple times. Thus my hope was that due to the "salary cap" that the big boys would be losing what they give to football and basketball. So we are not amping up NIL but the others are amping it down.

2. My hope is that now that we have built the indoor practice facility and are building the outdoor facility we are at least close.

3. Servais lived over by Skutt and did camps to make ends meet until recently. The new guy is looking a million plus homes. I thought his number one assistant is a head coach at a Florida school.

I would say the money side here has taken a big jump up but curious others see the same potential for dropping budgets elsewhere?

You don’t get a guy like Kingston here on empty pockets. And on top of that, his personal choice pitching coach.

I know that Kingston is stumping for money. It won’t take nearly as much to be strong due to the structural changes.

Frankly the numbers of what would help us compete are shockingly low. In fact, passing the hat on a venue like this one could even help a little.

The idea that a regional final is a ceiling is far from accurate in today's NCAA. The Arkansas draw was awful. KU and NDSU were great, but it was going to be a huge task to get through the hogs. Other teams are making occasional runs to Super Regionals and Omaha. Just need the right draw and right team to be able to push through.

Multiple buildings already torn down and land being prepped for baseball stadium to start going up. Should be a nice new facility for practice with new indoor space, as Kitty is getting torn down, too. If you haven't driven around East part of campus lately, there are six active construction sites right now.

The new coaching staff is amazing. Not just Kingston, but to get Mike Current as his top assistant and Billy Mohl as his pitching coach makes a very complete staff. All three are qualified to be head coaches.

We need some more low to mid 90s pitchers. This Oregon st pitcher has 9ks. Has given up a run though. He’s hitting 95 and 96 frequently.
