Catching UConn would require an epic collapse by the league's hottest team. Won't happen.
Could sweep St. John's and still wouldn't be enough to catch the Storm, although Storm still have to face Georgetown.
But just 2 games from leaping Xavier, the only realistic hope.
Problem is, Xavier still gets to play Butler and Nova. But if X is swept at Georgetown, there's some hope here.
The likelihood of the needed collapses by others is so remote as to be practically nonexistent. The bigger problem, though, is really that there is absolutely no reason to expect Creighton to be able to win as many weekend games against the top of the league as would be required even in the event of those unlikely collapses.
I'll freely admit here if somehow they prove me wrong, but losing those two games to Georgetown last weekend basically sealed that this season is over and there is no possibility at all of postseason play, yet again. Incredibly showing in nonconference, midweek games, beating ranked opponents, etc. -- all for absolutely nothing once again.
